Introduction to the Human Rights Council of India

The Human Rights Council of India was founded by Mr. Haji Shaikh, a dynamic, dedicated human rights activist and social worker. The organization was registered under the Central Government of India in the year 2013 and has since been working with commitment and integrity for the noble cause of human rights protection and promotion.

The Council is devoted to the principles of justice for all, economic upliftment of the underprivileged, education, love, peace, harmony, and friendship. It actively promotes national and international integration through the exchange of ideas, values, and ethos among neighboring countries and people across the world.

The Human Rights Council of India came into existence to spread and strengthen human rights values across every corner of India after passing a formal resolution. Through its extensive national network, volunteers of the Council are available across the country. The work of the organization is planned and executed through various specialized committees such as Education, Health, Legal, and Social Welfare Committees, among others.

The Human Rights Council of India is a purely non-political and secular NGO, operating with the support and contributions of its members. The organization has earned recognition and respect due to the association and active participation of intellectuals, philanthropists, advocates, academicians, and other eminent personalities, who have contributed significantly to spreading awareness not only about human values but also about various social causes.

The Council works as a strong support system for the ignored, disregarded, overlooked, victimized, oppressed, depressed, and tortured sections of society, cultivating awareness among them regarding their rights and entitlements. It functions as a highly informative, responsible, and secure human rights organization.

The Human Rights Council of India collects problems, complaints, and grievances of sufferers, as well as reports related to anti-social and anti-human activities, and places them before the concerned government administration, police authorities, and courts for appropriate action.

The organization actively commemorates and observes important international days such as International Youth Day, World Women’s Day, World Peace Day, World Press Freedom Day, and World Human Rights Day. In addition, it regularly organizes meetings, seminars, conventions, conferences, assemblies, cultural programs, youth camps, and judiciary awareness camps.

The Human Rights Council of India has several prestigious future-oriented projects planned for execution and is supported by a large and growing membership base dedicated to the causes of human rights, civil liberties, and social justice.

Apart from educating people about their rights, the Council also encourages and honors eminent personalities who have rendered outstanding services in the field of human welfare and human rights protection. Every year, on the occasion of World Human Rights Day, the organization felicitates diplomats, judges, social workers, administrators, and leaders for their commendable contributions toward the betterment of society.

The Human Rights Council of India has established a Legal Cell in Dahisar, Mumbai, and operates legal support services across India. These services are provided with the assistance of Advocate Shri Madhav Suryawanshi and are aimed at supporting the poor, downtrodden, women, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, persons with disabilities, children, laborers, factory workers, and other weaker sections of society.

The organization also operates its official website www.hrcofindia.org, which boldly raises its voice against all forms of injustice and social evils, while simultaneously creating awareness, promoting unity, and educating citizens to stand together for justice and human dignity.
